State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Kim Reyes. My kennel is Villain Bullies and we are located in Victorville, CA. Otherwise known as the High Desert.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed Micro Bullies, English Bulldogs as well as Frenchies. Originally I started off with breeding micro bullies with my son and daughter in law from Beesexoticbullies710. Then I got a great opportunity to have a female and male English Bulldog, and about 6 months later I won in a contest and the prize was a beautiful cream female frenchie. I fell in love with frenchies from that day forward and now I have 5 female frenchies and 1 male.
What is your favorite bloodline?
My favorite bloodline of frenchies I would have to say is either Genie bloodline or Thick bloodline from Gordos Bulldogz. The male frenchie I have is co-owned with my best friend from Tattedflock_bullys619. Our pup is from her female named Minnie and Thick.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
In my opinion characteristics of a responsible dog breeder would be somebody who takes proper care of their dogs. Making sure they eat good food, get adequate exercise, get checked regularly with their vet and someone who gives a lot of love and affection to their furbabies. Also they won't over breed their dogs.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
The diet my dogs get year round consists of Victor kibble, a little bit of honey, some salmon oil, and grated carrots. Sometimes we will add fruits like blueberry, strawberries and watermelon.
Are there any specific brands of dog food that you recommend?
Two brands of dog food that I would recommend are either Victor or Royal Canin.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
We feed our dogs 2 times a day, breakfast and dinner.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
We keep our dogs in shape with regular exercise and walks.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Villain Bullies from start to finish.
- The process to purchase a pup from us starts with an application. Which basically introduces us to them and their family. This is so we can get an idea of their lifestyle, to see if they have the time and energy to give to a pup.
- Then after that we do an in person meeting for the family to meet the pup. I watch to see how they interact with the pup and vice versa.
- Next we schedule a day and time to bring the pup to them and to exchange money and ownership of the pup. That way we see where the pup will live and if there are other animals or not.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
I do not currently show any of my pups.
What advice does Villain Bullies have for any upcoming breeders?
Advice I have for upcoming breeders is to not give up. You don't always get a win, sometimes you get losses. It's not a get rich quick scheme. You have to be able to invest your time and money. Surround yourself with good breeders that will mentor you.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think the most difficult thing a breeder has to overcome is losing one of your females or puppies or any of your dogs for that matter. Unfortunately it does happen.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
The way to overcome this is to do your best and be cautious. Don't let your dogs be in the heat and always make sure your dogs have fresh water.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to a few different breeders in the dog game. One of them is George from Microexotics. He taught me alot. Also Daniel from Magnumbullyz2. He also taught us a lot. And last but not least Eric from Romanskennelsmain. This guy knows so much and took the time out to explain things to us when we first started. I will forever be thankful for all of them.
Tell us about one of Villain Bullies main goals for 2022.
One of my main goals for 2022 is to start getting into the fluffy frenchies. I am currently working on that now.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
In the next 10 years I would love to see the bully industry get back into the brindle and pied dogs again, as they have the best structure.
What separates Villain Bullies from the competition?
I feel my kennel separates from other kennels due to us being so supportive of all other kennels.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Other hobbies I have are getting tattooed. I really love getting tattoos, and I love spending time with my family.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is an awesome contribution for the Bully industry. Giving recognition where recognition is due.
