Tilted Crown Kennels: XL American Bully Breeder in Florida
Share
State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Alexis Jones. I’m the owner of Tilted Crown Kennels, located in Broward County, Florida.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed American XL Bullies. Growing up, my father always kept a Pitbull or a Pitbull mix in my life for protection and to teach me responsibility. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the breed, and its reputation only made the bond stronger and gave me a challenge.
What is your favorite bloodline?
I don’t have a favorite bloodline. I appreciate a lot of traits and characteristics from different bloodlines. But I'm hoping to create the bloodline that I can one day call my favorite.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
Dedicated, Trustworthy, Passionate, Focused, Fair, Helpful, Polite, Respectful, and Understanding. Your character is your character, but if you hold these values, I believe you have what it takes to be a responsible dog breeder.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed the dogs a raw diet.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
My older dogs eat twice a day, and my young pups eat three times a day.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
I incorporate fun with exercise. My dogs spend a lot of time outside on springs and flirt poles. They love for me to run with them, so we run up and down hills to build muscles.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Tilted Crown Kennels from start to finish.
- First, I talk to potential buyers to find out the environment that the dogs will be living in. I do this so I can make suggestions on a pup based on the personalities I’ve observed.
- Then, I send pictures and videos of the pup along with a draft copy of the contract.
- If we both agree to move forward, we orchestrate shipping or pickup.
- Every puppy comes dewormed with a health certificate.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
I've visited a couple of fun shows but nothing serious.
What advice does Tilted Crown Kennels have for any upcoming breeders?
I would tell any upcoming breeders, don’t be afraid to be different. Stay focused on your yard and your vision. “Dedication hits different when it’s yo’ passion!”
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
Bad breeders ruin it for everyone. People that are in this for money, popularity, and attention do not add or help the game of breeding.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
You can overcome this by keeping an open mind, staying consistent, having patience, and respecting others' opinions.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Of course, I respect those before me, but it's easier to be a follower than a leader, and I'm here to lead!
Tell us about one of Tilted Crown Kennels main goals for 2022.
My main goal in 2022 is to expand Tilted Crown Kennels.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now, I see TCK’s vision as a reality. The ribbons and the trophies are nice, but are your dogs happy, healthy, and well cared for? I believe some people forget the true value of the breed; loyalty and companionship.
What separates Tilted Crown Kennels from the competition?
One thing that sets me apart from everyone is that I am my competition! I don’t look at other kennels as competition because I'm more focused on becoming a better me, bully mom, and breeder.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I love fishing, camping, rapping, dancing, and spending time with my family.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I think Bully Girl Magazine is looking to change the game, and I have nothing but love and respect for that. Y’all could stay focused on big-name kennels, but instead, give people like myself a chance to get their name out there. Salute!

This is so great…. I think TCK can and will become the best dog kennel out there because the owner is so caring and compassionate and we need more young people like her in this business.
