Supreme XL Bullies | XL American Bully Breeder in Florida

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Constanze Beier, and my partners name is Josh Souder. We own Supreme XL Bullies in Tampa, FL.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed American XL Bullies. We love how this breed fits in our active family lifestyle. They enjoy being out and about with us, but also love to snuggle on the sofa and snooze the day away, if need be. I never owned another breed who loves to be around people as much as the American Bully. Personally, I think they are the most beautiful looking dogs, on top of their temperament!
What is your favorite bloodline?
Not a bloodline as such, but most of my dogs have some sort of Bossy Blood in them. So Bossy is on the top of my list, together with Sunline.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
That's a good question. I think a responsible breeder focuses on quality, health and temperament. That means making sure his/her own dogs have a good quality of life. A good breeder understands the work is not done once the puppy leaves to his new family.
I am very blessed to be able to always contact the breeder of my dogs if I have any questions. Also, I plan on doing the same once my puppies leave for their new homes. I prefer a breeder who has a smaller pack and is able to take good care of the dogs. There are many dogs who live their life away in kennels, without being properly exercised or socialised.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our Bullies Victor Pro dog food.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
At Supreme XL Bullies, we feed our dogs twice a day, morning and late afternoon.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
We take our dogs on a pack walk every morning for about an hour in the afternoon. We do some flirt pole or ball retrieving. "Chuck it" is my favorite tool! Two of my dogs love swimming, which is great for the summer. We also do some obedience work in between.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Supreme XL Bullies from start to finish.
We usually have a lot of inquiries through Instagram or our other business. This is great because they have actually met our dogs, and envision a bully like that for their own home.
- So once people reach out and I answer all the questions they might have, I keep them up to date with the breeding process.
- I take deposits to reserve the puppy and send out the puppy contract.
- The new owners will receive updates throughout the weeks the puppies are with me.
- Picks are made at 6 weeks, but the pups don't leave until at least 8 weeks old. All pups are pre-registered with the ABKC, and have their health certificate.
- Full payment has to be made before the puppy can go to their new home. We do also offer hand delivery.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
We started taking two of our girls to confirmation classes, but the pandemic has slowed everything down. I am hoping this year we can get back on track with showing!
What advice does Supreme XL Bullies have for any upcoming breeders?
Focus on your own vision to better the breed, and don't get distracted by what others are doing. Invest in quality, not quantity and be patient. Also, read some good books about breeding and whelping.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
I think you need to have a lot of nerves and patience in this game. Trying to cut corners to save money and following trends, does not improve the breed.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Study the breed and don't settle for a less quality pup. You don't want to spend money on a dog you don’t really want. Save up for the stud or puppy you truly want. Make sure the dogs are health tested, and show good temperament, before making a quick decision.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I definitely look up to Katt from Bossy Kennels, and Michelle from MVP. There are a lot of breeders, established, new and upcoming that I follow and admire. Desirabull Kennels, Tri Bully Kingdom, MSB and Blueberry Kennels to name a few! They all produce beautiful bullies, while also focusing on good temperament.
Tell us about one of Supreme XL Bullies main goals for 2021.
This year I am hoping to produce some beautiful puppies with my girl Pandora. I also definitely would like to get into the show ring.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would hope that the focus would be less on size and weight, and more on a healthy balanced structure that still lines up with the breed standard. Also, I would love for the breed to be recognised by the AKC (American Kennel Club).
What separates Supreme XL Bullies from the competition?
I don't really see other kennels as my competition. My energy goes to doing right by my dogs, and this awesome breed.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
We own a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in Lutz Florida. So, if I am not busy loving my dogs, you can find me rolling on the mats.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
Bully Girl is definitely one of the best magazines out there, with great informative content. I feel very honored to be featured. Thank you so much for the opportunity!
