My name is Leslie, and I am the founder of Platinum-Infused Bullies located in San Tan Valley, Arizona.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

Here at Platinum-Infused Bullies, we breed American Bullies. Growing up we always had different breeds of dogs, from Dobermans to Daschunds. However, I always had a soft spot for the bully breeds. They were always the kindest, most loving, and goofiest dogs of the bunch. I decided to pursue this breed specifically because I wanted to show people how amazing they truly are, and to help lay their bad reputation to rest.

What is your favorite bloodline?

I would say that my favorite bloodline would be Chumper blood. I love how muscled up these dogs are. I own two females that carry that Chumper blood, and they do not disappoint.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

A responsible breeder is a breeder that puts their dogs above anything else. They are someone who gives their dogs the fullest life, and doesn’t just have them in a kennel all day, or uses them strictly for profit. These dogs are family, and deserve to be treated as nothing less.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

We feed our dogs a high protein kibble diet: Victor Hi-Pro mixed with liquid gold, gold dust, coconut oil, raw eggs (a few times a week), and salmon oil.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

Since we feed our dogs high protein, we feed them once a day.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

In order to keep our dogs in shape throughout the year, we run them with weighted X-Dog vests and put them on the spring pole.  Additionally, since we live in the beautiful state of Arizona, we take them hiking whenever we’re given the chance and when the weather permits.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Platinum-Infused Bullies from start to finish.

Although Platinum-Infused Bullies has not dropped a litter yet, the process would go as follows: each potential customer would be FaceTimed or, if local, met in person, in order to get a feel for the person/family. We would ask questions such as: do you have experience with the breed? Do you plan on showing the pups? Do you plan to breed?

Once the clients have been assessed, and we feel comfortable moving forward, a contract will be written up which will encompass all kennel details and stipulations. The pups will come with ears cropped and fully healed (if requested), a health certificate, and ABKC paperwork. Shipping options will also be available. When someone purchases a pup from Platinum-Infused Bullies, they will have our support with any needs moving forward. All clients will become part of the Platinum-Infused Bullies family.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

Yes, we currently take all of our dogs to fun shows in order to help them gain experience in crowds and ring etiquette. We plan to attend our first, local, ABKC sanctioned show in December.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?

I myself am still new to the breeding community; however, to any breeders just getting started, make sure you’re getting into this because you are truly passionate about the dogs. Unfortunately, there are a lot of breeders that are blinded by money signs. Treat your dogs with the utmost respect and love, and they will repay you tenfold. And lastly, stay true to your vision.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

I believe that the most difficult thing to overcome in the bully game is the constant change of what’s “in style.” It can be hard trying to keep up with what is the most desirable type of Bully at the time -- standard size, pocket, exotic, etc. Trends are always changing, so one must accept that it will take money to make money.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

The best way to overcome ever-changing trends is by staying true to your vision. At the end of the day, your vision is what’s going to make you the best version of yourself, and it will make your productions the best that they can be.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

The person that I look up to the most in the bully game is Justin McGrew out of Turnbuckle Bullyz. I just purchased my Grch. Jaws female from him. The way he cares for his pups and how invested he is in their show's future is second to none.

Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022.

2022 will come with goals of champing out my two females on my own. I love the thrill of getting in the ring with my dogs, and I would love nothing more than to be the one to lead my dogs to a champion title.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

Ten years from now, I would like to see the Bully community support each other a lot more than we do now. Too much of “my dog is better than yours” is going around. I would love to see kennels supporting other kennels regardless of what their vision is. We’re in this for the love of the dogs, so let the dogs bring us together.

What separates Platinum-Infused Bullies from the competition?

What separates Platinum-Infused Bullies from the competition is the fact that we’re not in it for the money. We’re here to support the next person and the kennels that support us.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

We love hiking! Arizona is such a beautiful state, and it has so much beautiful scenery and adventures to offer. Every chance we get, we are out exploring new places and hiking new trails.
