Paul Kade Kennels: XL American Bully Breeder in Texas

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
Hey Yall, my name is Nik and I'm the owner of Paul Kade Kennels, currently located in Houston, TX.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
I breed XL American Bully's and from the jump I was already a dog lover. I've had Pitbulls, Yorkies, Chow Chows, and German Shepherds. With experience in different breeds, I honestly felt like the Pit Bulls were the most loving and loyal animals I've had. So it wasn't hard to take an interest and gravitate to the American Bully.
What is your favorite bloodline?
I honestly wouldn't say that I have a favorite bloodline because I love the breed itself. Now I do love how the Incredibullz Dirty Harry produces, which his dad is DDK Niko, who's off of the World Known Hulk. I love Xxxclusive Buddha, and how some of his offspring represent the breed type.
There are so many bloodlines that I really like which demonstrate the standards of what I love about the American Bully. Overall these bloodlines run so deep, that all these bullies started from the same blood somehow.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
In my opinion a responsible breeder should be improving their program and striving to consistently enhance the breed. This includes breeding functional health tested dogs, which I understand can be a bit pricey and overwhelming. However, I do encourage all breeders to do so.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
Throughout the year I freely feed my dogs kibble. They eat whenever they are hungry. I only feed raw beef mix during the cooler months.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
Keeping my dogs in shape is very easy because they chase each other all day long. They also go on walks and we visit a few dog parks twice a week.

At this moment we're not showing any dogs, but we do have show quality champions that will be in a show ring near you very soon.
What advice does Paul Kade Kennels have for any upcoming breeders?
The best advice I could give is to stay humble in this bully game. Have a goal and know why you're breeding. Last but not least, stay away from the negativity.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The most difficult thing is the hype on how people portray their yard, especially their studs. Ask for videos, side shots, rear shots, etc. Recognize the flaws of your foundation males and females, and work towards breeding that flaw out.
How do you think they can overcome this problem?
Do your research and don't be kennel blind. Educate each other because everyone is teachable. Support from others is very important in this breed. Not only for us as humans, but we all should have one goal in common.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
Honestly, there are only a few people that I look up to:
- Ms. Katie with The Incredibullz is one of them. She always breeds for show quality dogs and doesn't follow the hype. Katie also focuses on health testing, which motivated me into health testing my dogs as well.
- Another individual would be Alex from NBTB. He's the realest knowledgeable breeder you can have as your support system. He most definitely represents his brand when he says he breeds different.
Tell us about one of Paul Kade Kennels main goals for 2021.
One of my main goals for 2021 is to continue health testing the rest of my pack. I have 7 down and 3 to go. Also, starting a few of my girls in the ring which I'm ecstatic about. It should be fun. As far as 2022, it's gonna be a big year for Paul Kade Kennels, as we build a fully operated facility for our dogs.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
Ten years from now I hope we as humans and breeders are further from where we are today. We need to be more knowledgeable about the breed, and every breeder should be health testing for their program. Every breeder should be continuing to make progress and evolve, one breeding at a time.
What separates Paul Kade Kennels from the competition?
Honestly, I feel like I'm not in competition with anyone but myself. I understand who I am as a person. I try to produce what I envision as the standard show quality XL American Bully.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Other than being with my dogs, I love and enjoy family time. I have 2 young boys, so it is a must and a requirement that we enjoy every moment, and cherish those memories we can create with them.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I used to see Bully Girl Mag come across my timeline and get excited, because it's a brilliant platform for female breeders and also the American Bully Breed itself. I am truly humbled and blessed that you've considered me for this amazing feature. This magazine is a great resource for all breeds and breeders.
They include everyone: The goats, new breeders and the soon to be breeders. I thank you truly and it was my pleasure to do this interview.
