Neptune Bullies: Bulldog and American Bully Breeder in Cleveland, Ohio

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Chad Neptune, owner of Neptune Bullies and I am located in Cleveland, Ohio.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

I breed American Bullies and Bulldogs. I was inspired to start breeding because of my mother Keelynn McBride. When I was younger she used to breed American Pitbull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Old English Whites, I was always fascinated and intrigued by the whole process.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My favorite bloodline would be Bullseye because he is the original micro king, the structure is amazing and everything is top of the line.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

In my opinion characteristics of a responsible dog breeder would fall under the following: Health, cleanliness, someone who has a plan of breeding, plenty of space and someone who genuinely cares about the animals.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

Throughout the year I feed my dogs ground beef and Victor Professional Dry Dog Food.

Are there any specific dog food brands that you recommend?

I'd highly recommend the Victor dog food but Diamond dog food is a great alternative.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

My dogs get fed twice a day. Once in the morning around 9 A.M. and again in the evening around 7 P.M.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

Daily walks and spring poles are what keeps my dogs in shape throughout the year.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from your kennel from start to finish.

Purchasing a pup goes as follows:

• Puppies are available after 8 weeks and all vaccinations and shots are given.
• Each puppy leaves with their registration, pedigree and shot records.

• Pickings and visits are scheduled through my website or via email.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

None of my dogs are currently being shown but I will begin early 2023.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?

My advice would be to always study the bloodline of any dog before you purchase it.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

Honestly in my opinion the most difficult thing for people to overcome would be the hype. People would breed to trainwrecks just because it may have a lot of likes and promotion.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

This could be easily avoided if people would study their bloodlines before any purchase, not just the likes and comments that the pictures are getting.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

Props to Ed Shepherd, may he rest in peace. That man bred for himself, not for the hype or what other people wanted but for what he liked.

Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022.

My main goal for this year would be to start creating banners, logos and websites for the bully community at affordable prices.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

10 years from now I'd like to see all the photoshopping come to an end and for people to do more planned breedings and less pup back deals.

What separates your kennel from the competition?

What separates my kennel is not only do I breed for structure, drive and temperament but I try to improve on each breeding. Even if that means going back and line breeding to improve. I'm not afraid to inbreed, but you shouldn't inbreed all lines of bullies.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I also take part in Music, I write and produce my own music. I just released an EP, Solo Dolo By Over Dose Chad. I'm also a partner in retail with A.D.B. By Domo, selling clothes, purses and other accessories.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

I love Bully Girl Magazine, as it's one of the originals in the dog community. It’s the first REAL bully magazine, high in demand and still strong to this day. I remember a few years ago when their gear flooded the city. I've always liked the fact that Bully Girl Magazine reaches out to community members for our outlook on things.
