Whitehouse Bullies: XL American Bully Breeder in the UK

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

Hello, my name is Adam Whitehouse. My kennel name is Whitehouse Bullies and I am located in a small village called Grafton Underwood, inside of Kettering, UK.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

I breed American Bully XL’s. I was inspired to start breeding this beautiful breed after I purchased my first male XL “Bobby”, around a year ago as a family pet.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My favorite bloodline is Bossy’s bloodline, as they have a stunning array of different bullies, and that’s where Bobby’s dad came from. Bobby is the current U.K. Champion.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

A responsible dog breeder should possess the following characteristics:

  • shouldn’t be overly money orientated
  • shouldn’t over breed their dogs
  • should charge fair prices
  • should take health concerns into consideration and only breed healthy, correct dogs

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

My dogs feed exclusively on a raw diet that consists of raw animal meat, bone and tripe. I also give them some natural raw treats as well.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

I feed my dogs 2-3 times a day, and try to stick to a feeding routine with times, weights etc.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

I keep my dogs in shape by taking them on long walks, sometimes multiple walks in a day. I also let them play with each other as much as possible.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Whitehouse Bullies from start to finish.

To buy a puppy from my kennel is a simple procedure.

  • Message me through Instagram or my email address on my profile and let me know what you're looking for.
  • I can give you information on puppies currently available to purchase and information on upcoming litters from our kennel.
  • Once a puppy has been picked, a deposit shall be taken to secure your pick.
  • When the puppy is 8 weeks old, you are welcome to pick up your new family member and pay the remainder of the balance.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

I haven't, as of yet, had the chance to show any of my dogs. Due to the coronavirus, bully shows have been suspended until further notice, along with many other popular events.

What advice does Whitehouse Bullies have for any upcoming breeders?

Upcoming breeders must be willing to give their dogs a healthy, happy life. You must take into consideration whether you can definitely sell the puppies you plan to produce, and whether you have the resources to look after all of your dogs properly.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

People in the bully game need to overcome greed and put their passion for dogs and business first. If the money is you all you care about, then unfortunately you will not be here to stay.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

To overcome this you have to put your heart into your kennel, and learn how to breed responsibly and correctly first.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

I don’t particularly look up to any one kennel. Yes, there are a few major players who produce outstanding dogs, time after time. However, I look up to anyone who has a diverse program and is undertaking the breeding game responsibly. I respect those who produce healthy, stunning puppies and create a better lives for themselves, their families and their dogs.

Tell us about one of Whitehouse Bullies main goals for 2021.

My main goal for 2021 would be to show my dogs off at competitions, and let the bully community really see what I have to offer as a kennel.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

Ten years from now, I would like to see retired dogs still living happily with their respected kennels, friends or family. I do not want to see these dogs in rehoming centres, because the breeders have made enough money and the dogs have done their job. Dogs are for life.

What separates Whitehouse Bullies from the competition?

I like to think my kennel has a good energy around it. We have playful, gentle family dogs with no need for aggression or bad traits like some very serious kennels.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I also run my own jet washing business as a sole trader, and enjoy playing golf, which maybe explains my love for walking my dogs.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

I love Bully Girl Magazine. They are spreading a positive message about bully dog breeds to the masses.
