State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located. 

My name is Rubin Fullenweider, founder of Weider Bulldog Kennels, located in Hyde Park, NY.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed? 

I breed French Bulldogs and American Bullies. When I was 16 years old, my first dog was an American Pit Bull Terrier. Also, I always loved the French Bulldog’s look and size.

What is your favorite bloodline? 

My two favorite bloodlines are Miagi and Bape.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder? 

Responsible breeders take care of their dogs with vaccinations, love, good food and regular vet check-ups. Responsible breeders never abuse or over breed any dog.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year? 

I typically use a dry and wet food mix, and that has worked well for me.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs? 

All of my dogs get fed twice a day.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year? 

I let them run a lot, and I also take them on regular walks.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from your kennel from start to finish. 

I ask potential customers to provide personal and vet references. Also, I ask questions about their living situation, such as whether they own or rent. My goal is to place each pup in a forever home.

Do you currently show any of your dogs? 

I am not currently showing any dogs at the moment. Hopefully I will be able to before the year is out, due to the current pandemic.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders? 

Don’t chase the hype. Produce quality, healthy dogs and follow your own vision, while staying current. Stand behind your dogs and don't cut corners.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome? 

Losing puppies and dogs really hurts.

How do you think they can overcome this thing? 

Be patient and keep your dogs healthy. Keep them on a nutritious diet and stay on top of vet visits and tests.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why? 

I look up to Interstate Bullies and Mr. Soto. They consistently produce the best quality bully breed dogs.

Tell us about one of your main goals for the year 2020. 

One of my main goals is to produce more high quality bully breed dogs. Also, I would like to advertise and market my kennel more to the public.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now. 

In ten years, I would like to see more respect shown  to each breeder, and more breeders staying true to the breed.

What separates your kennel from the competition? 

I like what I like, and only want quality and good healthy productions at Weider Bulldog Kennels.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in? 

I love all sports, RC Cars, making music and reading.

I think Bully Girl Magazine is great! I love the way Bully Girl stands by the bully breeds. Bully Girl helps breeders to be heard and promote their kennel to the world.
