State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Lamar Park Jr. and my kennel is called Prayed Over Paws Kennels, located in Greenville, South Carolina.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

I breed American Bullys and Micro Exotic Bullys. I grew up with pitbulls, and always imagined them bigger. Well, I met a bully one day, while selling pitbulls, and I haven’t been the same since. 

What is your favorite bloodline?

It’s hard to just choose one. I’m in love with the Louis V bloodline, and also the Bullsace bloodline!

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

A responsible dog breeder is clean! Responsible breeders also put their dogs and customers first! Breeders provide a service to people, so thriving on good business and producing healthy puppies should be at the top of the list! 

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

I feed my bulls a high-protein diet year-round. 

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

I feed the adults one huge serving daily, and our puppies eat at least twice a day!

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

They are on a high-protein diet, so walking and training helps keep them in shape. We play fetch, and we play tug-of-war until it turns into “Just give it here”! LOL.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Prayed Over Paws Kennels, from start to finish.

The process of buying a puppy from Prayed Over Paws is very simple! If you see a pup available that you like, just simply call me or message me. A small deposit is required to hold your pup. Contracts need to be signed on both ends. We’ll choose a date for pick-up, or shipping services are provided at the customer’s expense. Payment must be completed upon pick-up, and all puppies need to be paid in-full before the shipper leaves with the pup. 

Does Prayed Over Paws Kennels currently show any dogs?

I am currently showing a few of my XL and Pocket Bullys. I am also showing a couple of Micro Exotic Bullys. 

What advice does Prayed Over Paws Kennels have for any up-and-coming breeders?

My advice to any up-and-coming breeder is to gain as much knowledge as you can, then apply that knowledge.  

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

I believe one of the most difficult things to overcome in the bully world is recovering from a major loss.

How do you think they can overcome this difficulty?

The only way to overcome experiencing a major loss is learning from your mistakes and never losing sight of your mission for your program. Pride kills, so never be afraid to reach out to someone who may be able to teach you something you didn’t know or didn’t understand. 

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

I look up to my dad! When I was younger, my dad bred Pit Bull Terriers. He produced some of the first blue Pit Bull Terriers in Greenville, South Carolina in the late 1990s. I will never forget how big a deal it was, how many people wanted one, and how much they were selling for. 

Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022, and describe how you would want things in the bully breed community to be ten years from now.

My number one goal for 2022 is to continue producing top quality bulls! Also, I would like my daughter to really begin her junior handling next year, as she’s already involved with the business. 

What separates Prayed Over Paws Kennels from the competition?

What separates me is that the bullys chose me! It’s like the boxing gloves were replaced with these beautiful muscle-bound dogs. I have a different type of hunger, ambition, and desire for the best, more than most! And once you add that I love bullys and bullys love me, there is no competition! 

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I’m a single father, and the dogs definitely take up a lot of my time. But my daughter loves to travel, so we pick places we’ve never been to and set a date. I guess you can say that being a better father has become a new hobby for me.

I think Bully Girl Magazine is awesome, and you all show some of the best bulls out there. I definitely appreciate what Bully Girl does for the bully community.
