Fabled Bullies: American Bully Breeder in Idaho

Meet Cooper and Bobbi Roberts, the proud owners of Fabled Bullies kennel located in Nampa, Idaho. Their kennel specializes in breeding American Bullies, specifically those between the pocket and standard class. What inspired them to get involved with this breed was their love for the look and temperament of the dogs. These dogs have big hearts and are incredibly loyal, and that's what sold them on breeding them.

When it comes to breeding, the Roberts' take it seriously. They test their breeding dogs for genetic health conditions, performing embark tests for all traits, and OFA heart and hips tests on the ones they plan to breed. Socializing their puppies and preparing them for new homes is a top priority. They make sure their puppies have plenty of other dogs and breeds to play with, take them on car rides, and bring them to pet-friendly stores to get them used to noise and distractions.

One of their current favorite bloodlines is Phoking Style. They love the consistency of their dogs and the thick bull look they bring. The Roberts' believe that a responsible dog breeder should prioritize cleanliness and testing to ensure the breed progresses into a healthier one. They also prioritize diet and exercise, keeping their dogs on a rotation of different foods and ensuring they stay in shape by going on walks and playing outside.

When purchasing a pup from Fabled Bullies, the Roberts' look at the puppy's looks and health. They do not sell all of their dogs with breeding rights, and if a puppy has any major flaws or health concerns, they pet home them. They work with buyers to figure out which puppies would fit their program the most.

Fabled Bullies offers health guarantees for the first year and welcomes back puppies if a circumstance arises where the owners can no longer keep them. They also inquire about the puppies they've sold and love getting updated pictures. Cooper and Bobbi Roberts currently show one of their dogs, GrCh Vito, who is being trained and handled by Nikki Lynn for the ABKC and BRC.

Cooper and Bobbi Roberts advise upcoming breeders to do things the correct way and do tons of research before jumping in. They believe that having contracts for every situation is essential and that verbal agreements rarely work out. They also advise having a cash flow for emergency c-sections, vet visits, and health issues.

Their main goal for 2023 is to become Top Dog for ABKC and BRC. They also hope that the bully breed community will become more classy and respectful towards these dogs, treating them with the love and respect they deserve. What separates their kennel from the competition is their professionalism, microchipping all of their dogs and puppies, and their willingness to help out where it's needed with customers or other kennels.

In their spare time, the Roberts' enjoy being in the mountains and camping with their dogs and families. They also think highly of Bully Girl Magazine, seeing it as a great source of information and a way for beginners to learn what's hot and what’s not.
